Please Note: The global term 'Taxpayer' covers to all types of Taxpayer, including Businesses, Limited Companies and Individuals.
General
- Designed for use by businesses with One or more VAT Registration Numbers, or Agencies that submit VAT returns on behalf of Clients.
- Designed for use by Sole Traders with One or more 'Self Employment' or 'UK Property' businesses, or Agencies that submit Income Tax returns on behalf of Clients.
- Note: Due to the 'Foreign Property Business' design changes introduced by HMRC, the NJT software will not include this type of business.
- ‘Single’ or ‘Multi’ User, the database can be installed on a local computer or a central server. Which means that multiple users can access the database simultaneously.
- HMRC submissions and responses can be viewed on screen, printed or saved as PDF file.
- Facility to amend, delete and search for Taxpayers (relevant mainly to multiple licences).
- Facility to check for and automatically download new ‘Font End’ software releases.
- Product is fully compliant with HMRC security requirements.
- Facility to backup and restore all data.
VAT Returns (Agents, Businesses & Limited Companies)

Designed for use by both Businesses and Agents:
- Businesses with a single VAT account
- Businesses with multiple VAT accounts (5, 10, 25, 50, 75 & 100 account licences available)
- Agents that submit VAT returns on behalf of clients (5 to 'Unlimited' client licences available)
- Facility to retrieve the latest MTD VAT Return obligation for each Taxpayer from HMRC.

Prepared VAT Returns can be imported directly from:
- VT Transaction+ or VT Cashbook (Compatible with Excel '32-bit' only).
- An Excel workbook or a CSV text file.
- A Microsoft Access exported file in a standard Excel format.
Also, prepared VAT Returns can be imported via files exported from the following systems:
- Acorn Legal (via a 'VAT Return' file in 'Excel' format).
- Avanti (via a 'VAT Return' file in 'Excel' format).
- Exchequer (via a 'VAT Return' file in 'Excel' format).
- FBA-Promar (via a 'VAT Return' file in 'CSV' format).

(via a VAT Return Report file in 'Excel' format). Note: Use the 'Excel (Standard)' format when importing.

- Facility to create Client invitations to authorise the Agent to act on their behalf. (Agent Licence only)
- Facility to check Agent/Client relationships. (Agent Licence only)

For the multiple licences, a 'VAT Diary' function is available to assist in the management of VAT returns,
including Taxpayers without an VAT obligation and a chronological list of outstanding VAT obligations.
Income Tax 'Quarterly Updates' (Self-Employed, UK Property Rentals & Agents)
- From April 2026, the software will cater for ‘Quarterly Update’ submissions only for the Tax Year 2026-27 onwards.
- From April 2027, it is intended that the ‘Year-End’ functionality will be included.
- Facility to retrieve the latest MTD Income Tax obligations for each Taxpayer from HMRC.
- Prepared ‘Quarterly Update’ values can be imported directly from a pre-defined Excel workbook or CSV file.
- Please Note: Additional 3rd party accounts system ‘Quarterly Update’ formats will be considered upon request.

Facility to change your ‘Quarterly Period Type’ from ‘Standard’ to ‘Calendar’ and vice versa.
However, you can only change this before your first ‘Quarterly Update’ submission of the current Tax Year.
Example Periods are: ‘Standard Q1 06-Apr to 05-Jul’ and ‘Calendar Q1 01-Apr to 30 Jun’
