The 'NJT Tax Return Manager' bridging software is an application developed in Microsoft Access, that provides a quick and secure online filing of, MTD compliant,
Tax Returns to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The Software provides a combined solution covering both VAT and Income Tax submissions.
HMRC defines 'Bridging software' as a product that provides an MTD compliant digital link between your accounting / bookkeeping software and the HMRC MTD system.
The software comprises of a ‘Front End’ application (Software) and a separate ‘Back End’ database. Due to this versatile design, the software is applicable for individuals, businesses & Agencies of all sizes.
The software is fully ‘Multi’ User, which means many users can access the database simultaneously. The ‘Front End’ software is installed on each User’s computer and the database can be stored locally or on a central computer (File Server).
For information, Microsoft provides a free 'Runtime' version of Access, which can be installed by customers that do not have at least Office 2016 with Access included.
Please Note: From April 2026, the software caters for ‘Quarterly Update’ submissions from Tax Year 2026-27 onwards for Sole Traders & UK Property Landlords with a qualifying Income exceeding £50,000. From April 2027, it is intended that the software will be enhanced to include ‘Year-End’ functionality.
